Privacy Policy

Paravida is designed for research and game design exploration. The app does not require users to create an account for regular play.

If you participate in a research study, we provide an in-app consent form informing you that we will collect demographic information and app interaction data needed to understand the design task. Research data is handled according to the consent information provided for that study.

We do not sell personal information. We only use collected information to inform the research process, improve the design experience, and respond to participant or media enquiries.

Data Collection

Paravida does not collect personal data by default.

The app only records data if you explicitly consent to participate in the research study inside the app. If you do not consent, no data is collected or uploaded.

Data Collected During Study Participation

If you choose to participate in the study, Paravida may collect anonymized demographic information, interaction and gameplay data, including:

• Game designs shown or edited in the app
• Ratings you provide for game designs
• Gameplay outcomes, such as whether a game was completed or won
• Scores and elapsed play time
• Design changes made while using the app
• Technical data required to submit the research data, such as timestamps

This data is used for research purposes only and not shared in raw form with 3rd parties.

No Direct Personal Identification

The research data collected by Paravida is anonymized and is not intended to identify you personally. We do not ask for your name, email address, account details, precise location, contacts, photos, or other directly identifying personal information.

How Data Is Used

Anonymized study data may be used to:

• Analyze how players interact with generated game designs
• Improve research methods and experimental systems
• Support academic research, publications, presentations, and reports

Only anonymized and aggregated data will be used or shared in research outputs.

Data Sharing

Paravida does not sell your data.

Data is not shared with third parties for advertising, tracking, profiling, or commercial purposes.

Anonymized research data may be shared with researchers, academic collaborators, or institutions involved in the research project, but only for research purposes.

Consent and Study Withdrawal

Participation in the research study is optional.

You may choose not to participate. If you decline participation, the app remains usable and no data is collected or uploaded. When re-installing the app you can choose to switch between study participation and exploring the app, again. We will ask for your consent with every new installation of the app.

Data is stored anonymously, if you want the withdraw from the study delete the app, which deletes your local data. Stored, processed data used in the study cannot be linked to a person once the local app has been deleted and does not contain any personal or identifiable information.

Data Storage and Security

If you participate in the study, research data may be temporarily stored on your device before being uploaded to the research server. Reasonable technical measures are used to protect the data during storage and transmission.

Children

Paravida is not intended to knowingly collect personal data from children. By consenting to the study the users also state that you are 18 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be published with a revised “Last updated” date.
